Our History
Chapters from Henry Metzner's book "History of the American Turners" which were previously posted on this web site are now on the web site of the American Turners. We have happily transferred the chapters we scanned into our old site to a place we feel is their rightful home. Anyone wishing to learn about the American Turners will find the information there most helpful.
Web site of the American Turners
The American Turners have an official Historian, Giles R. Hoyt, PhD. You may contact him from our Links page or via the official web site of the American Turners.
The Max Kade German American Center of the University of Perdue University of Indianapolis has cataloged extensive records from many Turner Districts and Societies as well as the National Office. That catalog is posted on the web and they are adding to it all the time.
Both the above sources welcome items that may shed light on historical aspects of American Turner history. These items would include, but are not limited to; flyers, pamphlets and annotated photographs of Turner events in America.
