Frankfurt - 2009 |

May 30 to June 5. www.turnfest.de is the official website for the Frankfurt Turnfest and contains many stories, photos and videos of the Turnfest and links to the city of Frankfurt. You can purchase professionally taken photos of many events and personalities at the website. There are also some from the 2005 Berlin Turnfest. A view of a concession stand on the south bank of the Main River taken from a bridge during the Turnfest. Beer and Brats anyone? This is when we really miss the literary talents of people like Annette Asmus, Marion Oppelt and Rosemary Steiner. Suffice is to say that we had a great time at the Turnfest and really missed our American Turner comrades. We fervently hope that our group can all get together for the next Turnfest in Heidelberg in 2013. It's a great time and we would be glad to have you come along with us. |

Link to an English Translation of the Turnfest This is only a small part of what is available if you are fluent in German, but it does contain a lot of good information if you are not.
You can find lots of interesting things from the Turnfest already on You Tube. Just Google "Turnfest" under the Video section and go to the results with tube in the address line. The Opening Ceremony fireworks and laser display are really something to see. A tip of the webmaster's cap to Frank Wedl for his many photographic contributions. |
